Nine Years, One Best Friend, and a Million Tail Wags

When I was little, I used to dream of having a puppy to be my best friend — but my parents were always worried about my allergies.

Then, the day before my ninth birthday, they told me they had a surprise. We drove for over an hour, and when we arrived, a lady handed me a tiny black fluff ball. In that moment, I realised she had just handed me my best friend. 🤍

“Then, the day before my ninth birthday, they told me they had a surprise.”

Since that night, my dog has never left my side. She’s been there for every moment — the good, the bad, and everything in between — always offering tail wags and face smooches when I needed them most.

She’s now 9 years old, and I’m so grateful for every year we’ve shared. From camping trips to cosy movie nights, we’ve built a lifetime of memories — and we’re nowhere near done.

A dog truly is man’s best friend — and she’s mine for life. 🤍
